Dr. Hannah Murray is an internationally recognized artist and teacher, as well as the co-founder and creator of corpSonore – sound | body | wellness, a platform and podcast dedicated to the health and wellness of all musicians. Hannah is a certified 200-hour yoga teacher and holds a certificate in “Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine.” She is a Suzuki-certified violin teacher and a Regional Timani Institute Instructor, representing California and the West Coast. She is one of only three Timani teachers in the United States.

Hannah is regularly invited to give lectures, workshops, and masterclasses nationwide, as well as at top conservatories, music programs, and conferences, including Juilliard, Oberlin, and the American String Teachers’ Association, on topics such as Timani, musicians’ health, violin pedagogy, and yoga for musicians. She trains and works with professional musicians in various ways, including private clients, courses, and curates an online community dedicated to healthy and informed violin playing.

Dr. Murray is a dedicated educator and takes her role seriously. She thoughtfully combines anatomy, contemporary biomechanics, and research with traditional string pedagogy to ensure her students are prepared for any challenges. She is the Orchestra Director at the Archer School for Girls and the Instructor of Violin and Viola at Mount Saint Mary’s University. She has extensive experience working with music nonprofits across the country as the Music Director of Harmony Project Pasadena, a Master Teaching Artist with Harmony Project Tulsa, a mentor with Project 440, and a Teaching Artist with the LA Philharmonic. Before moving to California, she was the instructor of Violin and Viola, String Chamber Music, and String Education at Oklahoma Baptist University, where her students won top prizes and accolades, as well as at Mid-America Christian University and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. 

Hannah is an active orchestral and chamber musician in the LA area and holds the position of Principal Second of the Westside Chamber Orchestra. She regularly performs as Assistant Concertmaster with the San Bernardino Symphony, as well as with Opera Santa Barbara and the Pacific Opera Project. Previously, she served as Associate Principal and Principal Second of the Tulsa Symphony, as well as Associate Concertmaster of the Signature Symphony. 

She regularly performs, records, tours, and collaborates with a diverse array of composers, ensembles, and performers including Jacob Collier, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Connor Oberst and Bright Eyes, Maria Taylor, Phoebe Bridgers, Andrea Bocelli, Amy Grant, Michael Bublé, West Thordson, A Whisper in the Noise, and many others. Her playing can also be hear in recordings for film, television, and video game soundtracks including League of Legends, and Blacktalon.

Hannah is currently working on a research, performance, and recording project centered around the violin music of the German Democratic Republic.
